Bellhire Flexible Contracts are designed to fill a gap in the market between daily vehicle hire and traditional longer term methods of vehicle acquisition. We offer a flexible, risk free alternative to daily rental, contract hire, leasing or outright purchase, with a wide variety of makes and models of vehicle for periods up to 12 months. Agreements can start from a single month and don’t lock you into any long term contract commitment, no large financial outlay and no hidden penalties. More Information

Short Term Contract Hire is very similar to Contract Hire with the only difference being, as the name suggests on a short term basis and the flexibility of the term.

Short term contract hire is simply an agreement where the Customer you pay a rental in return for the use of the vehicle. The rental is for a set time and mileage at a fixed monthly rate if you want to reduce the term you can, the rate adjust depending on how long you keep the vehicle.

If the customer is a VAT registered business then 100% of the VAT on these rentals may be recoverable, if the vehicle is only used for business purposes. If there is some private use of the vehicle, then 50% may still be recoverable (you must get correct individual advice on this depending on your circumstances).

When choosing Short Term Contract Hire you have the choice of adding routine maintenance but since most cars and vans now have extended servicing the vehicle is unlikely to need a service.

Short Term Contract Hire is classified as an operational lease for current taxation purposes, so it is regarded differently to 'purchase' contracts and you may benefit from certain tax advantages, your accountant can advise you depending on individual circumstances.
